This is the front cover for Ciara’s album where she uses a mirrored image of herself. She’s wearing all black and looks as if she is dancing but got caught up in the moment. We can see this by the way the back of her top is flying upwards. The lettering for the front cover is very basic but is clear so people don’t find it hard to read it. I think that the simplicity of the lettering makes it effective because the background and main image are dark colours and the lettering is in white. The mirrored image could resemble her reflecting on herself and show her growing into a more independent woman and doing things for herself. I think that using a dark studio background is effective because it helps use to focus on the artist more and makes her the centre of attention whereas when using a locational background it takes focus off the artist and makes us look at things around them. For our from cover we will be using a studio shot like Ciara’s as we find that it goes with the concept of our single.
This is the back cover for Ciara’s album. There is a juxtaposing between the front and the back colour wise as the front cover was a dark background and had white lettering whereas the back of the album has a white background and black lettering. It almost looks as if it is two separate CD’s. Ciara’s positioned in the centre of the back cover with her fist up which shows her in an empowering pose which could also show the concept of an empowering independent women in the RnB industry.
